Do you say that in English? Linux tickles? Well, never mind, you know what I mean.
Every once in a while I read an article about Linux and when this happens I always want to get my hands dirty and start downloading some live cd’s. Keep in mind that I’m a complete newbie when it comes to Linux.
So yesterday was such a day. I downloaded Suse and Slax. They both looked very good, but I must say that the boot-time of Slax was way shorter then the one from Suse. They both run very smooth, but neither of them found my soundcard or configured my wifi correctly. (I use a Toshiba)
I tried MEPIS a while ago and I think it’s much easier to use for a complete newbie, but I prefer the speed of Slax :)
For tonight I’m gonna try FreeSBIE. It’s a live cd based on FreeBSD.
What always follows on these tickles is the following thought:
Why would I leave windows behind? It’s just to easy to use, I know the system.
